Student Meal Plans are convenient, flexible, and loaded with options. Every meal plan provides a combination of Meals & Special Food Account Dollars (SFA).
S.F.A. [Special Food Account]: SFA dollars are like a gift card for food on campus. They are attached to your student ID card and are accepted at all of our dining locations. Running low? No problem! You can reload SFA anytime throughout the semester.
Meals: Students can use their meals at either Blue & Gold Dining Commons or Treetops Cafe. The Explorer Unlimited may enjoy meals as many times as they would like in a day. Students with Explorer 15 are given 15 meals to use throughout each week. Our Block meal plans are budgeted per semester.
Meal Exchange: Enjoy even more value and variety with your meal plan through our VIP meal exchange program. This option offers the ultimate convenience with meal options that can be exchanged at Subway without having to dip into your SFA. Accepted at Subway during dinner Monday-Friday and all day Saturday & Sunday. Students that dont purchase the Explorer Unlimited may add on the VIP program for meal exchange! Only $99 per semester.
The various meal plan options allow students to select the meal plan that best fits their personal eating habits. There are two types of student meal plans, traditional and voluntary.
Students living in traditional housing will be defaulted to our Explorer Unlimited meal plan that gives them Unlimited access to both Blue & Gold Dining Commons as well as Treetops Café. Students on the Explorer Unlimited will also be able to exchange one meal a day at Subway in the Student Union building. Students living in traditional housing may opt for the Explorer Unlimited or the Explorer 15. Students will be required to actively change their meal plan through the proper channels by the deadline. Commuters, graduate students and apartment residents may choose either a traditional or voluntary meal plan

*All student meal plan purchases one week prior to the Fall Semester must be requested on BR. LUWIS through the La Salle Portal.
